JACOB ROBINSON, SIMCOE REFORMER Thursday, February 4, 2010 The Holy Trinity Titans senior girls volleyball team was noticeably rusty coming off their first of two long breaks this season. Their game following the Christmas holidays didn't yield a performance the Titans had hoped for. But in their first contest after the two-week exam break, it was a much different story. The day was a long, gratifying one for the Titans and their supporters. "I've never won it," said fifth year co-captain Allie Decker, who was playing with a torn back muscle. "It feels great, I'm exhausted, I think we're all exhausted, but winning at home is definitely the best. JACOB ROBINSON SIMCOE REFORMER Thursday, January 7, 2010 Though they would eventually fall in the semifinals, the Holy Trinity junior Titans took a giant step towards repeating as NSSAA champs in their home volleyball tournament yesterday. The Titans hosted seven other teams -- three from Norfolk -- for a one day bash. Not only did Holy Trinity avenge a regular season loss against the first-place Port Dover Lakers, they were the only Norfolk school to qualify for the playoff round. With five wins in nine sets, the Titans placed second in Pool A, and faced the Assumption College Lions in the semifinals. |
