The music program at Holy Trinity Catholic High School is modelled on a traditional band program and vocal ensemble setting. Students are able to select either instrumental or vocal music as their area of performance. Whether you are a student with previous musical background, a student coming to Holy Trinity for your first year of high school or a senior student that has never had the opportunity to take music in grade nine, there is a place for you in the Holy Trinity Music Program.
There are excellent beginner courses for those students looking for their first experience with formal musical instruction. The first year courses are designed for students with little or NO previous musical training. Students will acquire an understanding of the elements of music through performance on a band instrument or with their voice. The student's performance will be strengthened through the study of basic theoretical rudiments and historical perspectives.
For those students with previous musical background, the Holy Trinity Music Program has the suitable music course to meet your present performance skills. By the end of the four-year music program at Holy Trinity, students have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to be a qualified applicant to post-secondary institutions for music-based programs.
The instruments used by the students at Holy Trinity are provided to those students enrolled in an instrumental music class at no charge. The music facilities at Holy Trinity include a large, tiered instrumental music room with three practice rooms at the back of the room.
There are opportunities for students to get involved with extra-curricular activities throughout the school year. These include Concert Band, Intermediate Band, Brass Ensemble, Vocal Ensemble and Music Ministry.
