Science

The science department contains five fully equipped labs. One of these labs is a shared lab (contained by glass and adjacent to two science classrooms) which allows flexibility in terms of the pacing of the curriculum and lesson design. Each lab contains a fume hood and eye wash station. In addition, there is a separately ventilated chemical storage room. The teaching staff consists of eight full-time/part-time teachers including 2 chemistry specialists, 2 physics specialists and 2 biology specialists. The courses offered include academic, applied, bridging, workplace(locally developed), college and university level courses. Staff tutorials and the SCITAP program(pairing of senior and junior science students) are available to help junior students master the curriculum and senior students to complete volunteer hours as per diploma requirements.
