University credits in high school
Grade 12 students who are up for a challenge can earn university credits in high school. During your grade 12 year you can independently study a first year university course. At the end of the semester you can write an AP exam. Two credits 80% or over will be accepted by most universities. This will save on your university tuition or give you the opportunity to take other courses. Talk to your guidance councilor for more information.
Progress reports will be sent home with students on October 7th. Parent-teacher interviews are being held on Wednesday, October 20th from 3:45 – 6:00 pm. Appointments are recommended.
On that same night, from 6:15 until 8:00 p.m. there is an information session being held in the Holy Trinity library on financing your post-secondary education.
This presentation is being put on by Kings College (Western University)
and the HT Guidance department. The topics being covered include OSAP,
budgeting, RESPs, scholarships and bursaries. This is a great evening
for parents and students in grades 11 and 12, however, all grades are
welcome. It’s never too early to start thinking about financing your
child’s post secondary education.
Hope to see you on Wednesday October 20th.
