OVERVIEW OF THE PROGRAM IN TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION

The fundamental purpose of the Technological Education program is to provide students with knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will enhance their ability to achieve success in secondary school, the workplace, postsecondary education and training, and daily life.

Skilled labour is in great demand in the twenty-first century.

The Technological Education Curriculum in Grads 9 -12 encompasses ten subject areas, all of which Holy Trinity Catholic High School offers:

Shampoo Service In grade 9 the students may choose to take Exploring Technologies which is intended to introduce students to Technical Education in general, exposing them to a range of subject areas. Students in this course work on projects that encompass several different technological areas, using a range of equipment and resources suited to the various areas.

The grade 11 and 12 Technological Education courses are ideally suited for Cooperative Education programs, Ontario Youth Apprenticeship programs, Dual Credit programs and often include programs that lead to a diploma with a Specialist High Skills Major designation.
