Monday, September 16th, 2024
Attention Cross country runners practice will take place Monday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. Everyone is welcome, please have permission forms signed. We will meet outside of the phys. Ed. Office at 3:10 and run until approximately 4:25.
Attention grade 12s please sign up for Liaison visits in guidance. A list of schools who have committed to a visit is posted in all grade 12 homerooms and also on the counter in guidance. Grade 12 Students can sign up for up to 3 visits. This is a great way to see what programs and resources schools have to offer. Visits this week include Kings University College UWO, Trent and Fanshawe College.
Attention students interested in going to Costa Rica for March Break 2025 - Please sign up in the main office and put your e-mail on the sheet. An e-mail with information will then be sent to you that you can share with your parents. If you have already signed up last year for the trip- you do not need to sign up again. Please remember that the parent meeting will be held on Monday, September 23rd at 6pm.

On Friday the junior boys soccer team travelled to Kitchener for a tournament, in which they lost in the silver bracket semi-finals 2-1. This is the best bracket the junior titans have ever been in and the tournament was a great success! Leading the way for the titans, were John Stecklebomb and Lucas Ferreira with 2 goals each, Lebron Arrendell, and Roman Vanacker had 1 goal each. Other standout tournament performances from Leandrew, Ryder Kowtaluk, and Nerraud Thomas.

Hey Titans! Have you heard the term SHSM and always wondered that they means? SHSM stands for a specialist high skills major program. This specialty program provides opportunity for grade 11 and 12 students to specialize in a specific career field of interest in high school. Through this SHSM program, students would work with their SHSM lead teacher and guidance counselor to select high school credit course which fit into their area of focus. Students would also have the opportunity to engage in a number of experiential learning opportunities and field trips to learn more about their career field of interest. In addition, students also receive specialized training directly connected to their SHSM program! Here at Holy Trinity, we offer the following SHSM programs:
Agriculture – with Mrs. DHulster
Construction –with Mr. Ellis
Health and Wellness –with Mrs. Bouw
Hospitality – with Mrs. Beam
Sports – with Mr. Backus
And Transportation – with Mr. Chernak

Attention grade 12s: Liaison visits begin next week with Kings University/College - UWO on Monday and Trent and Fanshawe visiting on Friday. Liaison visits are an Excellent opportunity to learn about what schools have to offer, and ask questions about programs. Please come down to guidance and sign up for up to 3 visits in the red binder on the counter.
Mr. Chernak's afternoon class will be catching a bus at the back of the school to go to Fanshawe at 12 noon sharp today.

There is a Music Ministry practices today over lunch. Please come down at the start of lunch if you're interested in playing music or singing in our school liturgies and Masses this year! If you have any questions about it, talk to Chap Ian
Games club is closed today during lunch but will be open again next week in room 231 for those interested in learning some new card games or board games.

All grade nines who need a late bus for colour night must be signed up by the end of the day today!
IMPORTANT: Any senior boys interested in volleyball must sign up at Room 210 and complete the forms in order to try out. As of right now there is not enough interest to form a team.

If any hockey players or figure skaters who live near Delhi are looking for community service hours, The Delhi Skating Club is looking for volunteers for their Learn to Skate program. One season of volunteering would achieve the 40 hours needed for graduation.

Attention tennis players! Due to the large turnout, practices have been modified. Jr players (gr. 9 and 10) will practice each day from 3-4PM, with seniors practicing each day from 4-5PM. If you are unable to make a practice, please communicate this to one of the coaches!"
Attention Titans! Anyone interested in becoming a peer tutor this year is asked to see Ms. Fry in TLC. This is an excellent opportunity to gain volunteer hours and help fellow HT students during lunch hour.
Any student interested in running cross country please sign up and take the two permission forms from the bulletin board outside the phys Ed office. We will have a brief meeting in guidance on Wednesday at lunch and our first practice on Wednesday after school. We look forward to seeing you.
Jr Girls Basketball tryouts will take place Wednesday morning at 7:15 and Tuesday Sept 17th after school from 3-4:15.
Thursday's tryout a has been cancelled due to colour night. Please pick up a permission form from Mr. Flynn in the PE office.
Attention Grade nines! The tradition of colour night continues at HT on Thursday, September 12 after school until 7:00PM. This is an excellent opportunity to meet new friends, learn cheers for fair, and dance the evening away. Pizza and snacks will be provided. You do not want to miss this exciting night!
All Grade Nines will be permitted to wear their colour at school on Thursday instead of the uniform. Please make sure it is school appropriate and you must be in your colour!
There will be late buses available after the dance, please sign up in the main office.
There is a five-dollar fee to attend this event. You can pay your fee on schoolcash online.
Attention to any Senior Boys interested in playing Senior Boys Volleyball. There is a sign up sheet and two important forms outside of Mrs. Mayne's room, ROOM 210. The first tryout will be Wednesday, September 11th @ 7:15 am in the small gym. The second tryout will be Thursday, September 12th at 7:15 am in the small gym. The final tryout will be Monday, September 16th @ 7:15 am in the big gym. Mrs. Mayne and Mrs. Van Dyk look forward to seeing you there!

Junior Girls Basketball Tryouts will take place in the morning on Wednesday Sept 11 at 7:15-8:30am and afterschool on Thursday Sept 12 at 3:00-4:15pm.
Please sign up outside the phys ed office and get a permission form from Mr. Flynn in the Phys Ed office.

"Attention Holy Trinity musicians, welcome back! If you are one of those students who rented out an instrument over the summer, could you please return the instrument by the end of next week to Mr. Webster in Room 147? That would be tremendous! Congratulations to the varsity girls rugby team who defeated Assumption College School 12-5 to earn the title of AABHM champions! It was a tight match- but the girls powered through and once again had an amazing second half!
> Try’s were scored by Liv Bluhm and Emma Thomson. It was a full team effort and the girls are off to CWOSSA next week!

The boys field lacrosse team finished their regular season on a winning note going 3-0 on the day, beating Waterford, Hagersville and Paris. Stand out performances go to Cam Schweitzer for netting 6 goals on the day; Matt Heran for adapting to many new positions on the field; and to Owen Smuck for almost getting his first official goal before his stick exploded. The boys are reminded of their mandatory practice Tuesday after school in preparation for the CWOSSA tournament next Wednesday.
We are having our annual HT car show this Friday. Everyone is invited, please feel welcome to join us with your class, or at lunch. Reminder the cafeteria is having a car show lunch special, featuring pulled pork and onion rings. Hope to see you all at the show!
There will be a mandatory car show committee meeting today at lunch, everyone on the committee MUST attend.

Yesterday- the varsity girls rugby team played in their semi final game - and after being down 12-0 in the first half- the girls dug deep and battled back to defeat the BCI Mustangs 24-17! The mustangs have not lost a playoff game in 14 years- but this year - they were knocked off the podium by our own Titans girls rugby team! Congratulations to the entire team for playing their hearts out and not giving up! They trusted the process and believed they could beat BCI- and they did!

22 bursaries across the province are available! In your application, please describe the justice sector career you are interested in pursuing and how your post-secondary program will help you achieve this goal. The amount of bursary for each recipient is $1000. Deadline to submit applications is May 27!

On Thursday, last week the Titans finished their season with a six game winning streak. The HT girls soccer team beat SCS 7-3. Exceptional goaltending by Graece Fowler. The next game is the semifinal on Thursday, May 16 at Hagersville secondary school.
On Friday, the HT Mock Trial team competed in the regional competition. Ryan Toft was acknowledge as the best Charlie, the accused, on the stand. Alescia Butler was exceptional in her role as a witness. Kate Earle, Stephanie Ferreira, Lucious Czerlau and Banessa Pattemore demonstrated authenticity in their roles as Crown and Defence lawyers. Thanks to Jil Michaels, Pheinix Fletch and Carly Barnes in their support roles for the team. HT is very proud of your performance.
