Friday, February 3rd, 2023
Any student in grade 9, 10 or 11 who is interested in writing the University of Waterloo math contest on Wednesday, February 22nd, today is the last day to sign up. Let your math teacher know or see Mr. Haak today in room 260.
You have next week to find a teammate and sign up for the HT Euchre tournament. The tournament will run over the lunches the week of February 13-17. To sign up, see Chap Ian in his office room 205. Next Tuesday and Wednesday there will be opportunities to relearn or learn how to play.
Please make sure you return all your semester one textbooks as soon as possible. Textbooks for this semester will not be issued to you if you have textbooks outstanding from Semester 1.

If you borrowed a calculator from TLC this semester and still have it out, please return it asap!
During our exam days we will have the following buses departing at noon: N609, N610, N613, N616, N617, N622, N623, N624, N628 and N866. All other buses will run at normal time at the end of the day. Student are welcome to arrange to be picked up as well. These buses numbers are posted by the main office if you need to double check.
Semester 2 Student Timetables will be emailed to both student and parent emails this week.
Today is the last day for the cafeteria. It will re-open on February 3rd.

Tuesday, January 17th, 2023
Holy Trinity hosted the Swim Championship Meet yesterday and dominated in the pool. Many swimmers achieved personal bests and should be proud of their performance. Of the five schools in attendance, Trinity came out on top and was awarded the Championship trophy. Congratulations!
There will be a meeting this Wednesday at lunch to share results and award ribbons to our top 3 finishers in each event. A reminder that we also have dryland training this Wednesday morning in the weight room. See you there.
For anyone interested in taking part in the Euchre tournament in February, but don't know how to play, you are welcome to come to room 149 to learn today and tomorrow and each Tuesday and Wednesday until the week of the tournament - February 13-17.

Games Club is Cancelled for today
Music Ministry practices are starting up again today in the music room over lunch. If anyone is interested in joining the Music Ministry team, today would be a great day to come and check it out
The Games Club will be hosting a Euchre Tournament the week of February 13-17 over lunches. If you are interested in signing up your team of 2, you can do so in Chap Ian's Office (room 205) next to the Chapel. If you are interested in joining, but don't know how to play this card game, or need a refresher, there will be practice matches going on Tuesdays and Wednesdays over lunch in room 149 up until the tournament.
Attention all swimmers please come to guidance today at the beginning of lunch today for a brief meeting and to pick up your spirit wear. If you have not already paid please remember to bring your money.

Anyone interested in getting volunteer hours after your exams? Come down to the phys ed office and talk to Mr. Backus about volunteering for the elementary basketball tournaments hosted at our school the two days following exams.

On Friday, Dec 23rd we were supposed to have our Christmas Turkey Dinner but due to the snow day this could not happen.
We were however, able to donate all our Christmas dinners to the Soup Kitchen, the Women’s Shelter and Church Out Serving.
Thanks to everyone that helped out during this time of year.

The senior girls volleyball team kept their regular season record perfect by beating all 4 schools that they faced yesterday. The combined scores were 200 - 110. Great work girls! A strong team effort was displayed by all!
The HT Junior Boys’ Basketball team won its last two games.
Last Thursday, the Titans defeated Delhi 70-39. KJ Stronks led the team in scoring with 20 points and strong defensive play. Nick Bint, Jack Palermo, and Trey D’Hondt also put forth excellent efforts.
Yesterday, the Titans played strong team defense and defeated Cayuga 39-9. Grady D’Hondt and Abraham Maritim each scored 9 points and rebounded well. Noah Morris, Mike Demaiter, and Carter Mychajluk played solid defense. Julian VanHaverbeke, Lynken Derkach, Cadell Thompson, and Quintin Salverda also played well.
The two victories leave the Titans in first place with a record of 3 wins and 0 losses. The team is reminded of the final practice before the Christmas break – today at 3:00 p.m.

The Boys Varsity Hockey Team continued their regular season play last Friday winning their first game but unfortunately lost their second game.
The boys defeated Delhi 6-2 in the first game but fell short in the second game losing to Simcoe 2-1.
The Boys go into the Christmas Break currently in 1st place and hope to secure the first seed going into their last two regular season games in the new year.

The girl volleyball season is well under way. The senior girls had a strong showing at a preseason tournament losing in the semi finals against a tough squad from St.Johns college.
They followed that up with two regular season wins over Valley Heights and Delhi. Overall the girls have had strong team play with everyone contributing to the wins. Good luck tomorrow against SCS.
Attention Grade 12’s in Bio and Health Science- if you are attending the DNA Fingerprinting trip to Toronto tomorrow with Mrs. Bouw- please check your e-mail today for important reminders. We leave at 7am Sharp. Please be on time. Thanks!
There are some volunteer opportunities in guidance for tomorrow and Saturday helping St. Vincent de Paul assemble Christmas Hampers. This is a great way to give back to your community and be a small part of some families in our community enjoying Christmas.
The social Justice Club Meeting scheduled for today has been moved to Monday Dec. 19. New members are welcome
