Attention SHSM health and wellness students - please check the bright space page for a list of all the individuals who need to attend the mandatory training on Monday, May 12 in the morning. This training will take place in the library. Please report to your home room for announcements then go to the library after announcements. You will all receive slips in your home rooms on Monday as a reminder of Monday’s training. If you have co-op in the morning, please make sure you let your co-op know you will not be there that day.

Attention all grade 10 and 11 SHSM students interested in health sciences. If you missed the western university discovery days and you wish to attend the discovery days at McMaster University on Thursday, May 29th please email Mrs. Bow and she will send you the registration information. Please note that you will be required to get your own ride there and back that day so please keep this in mind before registering.  If you wish to know more information, please contact Mrs. Bow today.

"Hey Titans. Warm sunny weather means we are ready to open up the beautiful tennis courts for supervised use here at HT. Players of all abilities are welcome to join for some drop-in tennis after school, starting next week on Thursday. Whether you are a complete newbie, or a tennis pro, all are encouraged to come out and play. You MUST have a signed permission form. Please see Ms. Robinson for a form and more information in Room 225."

The first annual HT Library Haiku Poetry Competition was a success! Thank you to all poets who entered their poems. They were wonderful! 

After tallying the votes, Ms. McColeman is proud to award second place to Michelle Awoyemi and first place to Jill Michael. Congratulations Jill and Michelle! Claim your prizes today in the library. All other poets who entered poems have a treat to pick up in the library today too. 

Poems will be displayed in the library and on Instagram. 

 

Attention health care club members- please check Heja as we have 4 guest speakers coming to chat with you on Tuesday May 6th. These guest speakers are all graduates from HT who have pursued nursing using different post secondary pathways. Come out for a great information session that will allow you to choose which nursing pathway is best for you! New members are always welcome! Please respond in Heja if you are able to attend! Please arrive with your lunch promptly in room 246 at 11:40am. See you Tuesday!

 

Attention Health and wellness SHSM students- just a reminder that you have mandatory training on Monday May 12th in the morning - from 9-12pm.

If you answered yes to these questions you should have a look at the Titan award and the School letter award application.  These are prestigious awards that are presented at academic awards and graduation to students who are well rounded and accumulate enough points.  If you have been involved in school life check out the application on trinity catholic.ca under the student life tab.  Applications are due this FRIDAY  May 9th to student services.  All involvement must be signed off by your coach/staff advisor so don’t wait until the last minute to start your application.  Late submissions will not be accepted.  If you have any questions please see your guidance counsellor.

 

Reminder to all Triathletes we will be practicing on Wednesday and Friday after school.  Please check in with Mr. Backus or Ms. Deconinck-O'Neail before Wednesday for important information about the mandatory swim test. 

 

Attention Grade 10 and 11 students there is an opportunity coming up to look ahead to post secondary options.  Ontario Universities will be holding a virtual information session on May 22 from 5-7 pm.  To get more information about this event and others, please visit OUEvents.ca.  Now is a great time to be researching potential pathways.

Cornerstone Capital Financial Group is pleased to announce the launch of their 3rd Annual Cornerstone Community Scholarship. Offering a $1,000 scholarship to support graduating students who are pursuing post-secondary education at a recognized institution in Ontario.

 

This scholarship provides valuable financial assistance to help with tuition, books, and other education-related expenses.

 

To apply, students must have completed at least one business class in grade 11 or 12 and submit a 500-word essay answering:
“How would you use $100,000 to benefit your community?”

 

The application deadline is June 30, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

Congratulations to all participants in HT's annual Track and Field Meet. It was an awesome day! All of you who participated should give your self a pat on the back for your amazing efforts.

 

Some extra recognition goes to some athletes who broke some long standing HT records:

 

Michael Malo - Novice Boys 400 meter in  58.21 seconds

Tristan Forde - Junior Boys Long Jump 5.65 meters

Nerraud Thomas- who broke 3 records!!

 Novice boys Long Jump 5.48 meters, Novice Boys High Jump 1.75 meters, and Novice Boys Triple Jump 11.51 meters.

Great work by all!

Any students who placed 1st or 2nd in their events yesterday are to come to the gymnasium to conifrm entries with Mr. Backus for the AABHN Championships next week in Brantford at Pauline Johnson. 

 

Attention Titans! Are you an enthusiastic high school student entering grade 11 or 12, with a genuine interest in pursuing a career in healthcare? 

London Health Science Centers  Trauma Program hosts a Trauma Career Bootcamp at Victoria Hospital. This week-long program provides students with an exciting opportunity to explore various careers in healthcare while understanding what it takes to be an effective member of the health care community. 

The Trauma Career Bootcamp will run from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, July 7-11, 2025. The program costs $150 per person which will cover the cost of activities and supplies for the week. Successful applicants will receive a registration package containing additional program information, forms, and safety modules that will need to be completed ahead of the first day of camp. 

Applications for the 2025 Trauma Career Bootcamp are now open and will close on Friday, May 9 at 11:59pm. Please see Mrs. Bouw in room 246 for more info! 

Attention students attending the Discovery Days in Health Science at the University of Western tomorrow with Mrs. Bouw. Please bring your signed permission forms to me today in room 246. Remember to be at HT at 7am for departure to London! Any questions, please see Mrs. Bouw.

Thank you to the students who attended the Conestoga Health Expo yesterday with Mrs. Bouw. You represented Holy Trinity very well- and it was a great day of learning about all the fantastic programs that Conestoga College has to offer! All students participating in track are reminded to bring in permission forms for Wednesdays Track and Field meet. The schedule has been posted outside the phys ed office . Please note the schedule may run ahead of schedule. All participants and helpers need to be outside at the field house prior to announcements to ensure a quick start. 

If you have any questions, come down to the phys Ed office and ask Mr. Backus.

 

The girl's rugby team had their first game of the season yesterday and came home with the win against Pauline Johnson. Special shoutout to Seleena Grey and Megan Smith who scored two tries each. Way to go girls!

 

The varsity boys soccer team defeated Delhi yesterday 5-0 in their first home game.  Cooper Carter scored a hat trick with Jordan Pacheco and Nolan Da Silva both adding one goal each. 

 

Attention any students interested in participating in a trip to Stratford Festival. There is a new date for the trip. Friday May 30. We will be leaving HT at 11:30 a.m. and returning at 6:30 p.m. Please see Ms. Noonan in 211 or your drama teacher for a permission form. We have 45 spaces available on the bus so return your signed permission form as soon as possible.

Are you a female student interested in the skilled trades?

 

The Ogwehoweh Skills and Trades Training Centre is hosting a 'Try a Trade' day in the areas of construction, automotive and welding.

 

The day will consist of three hands-on workshops, a tour, short program presentation, OYAP information and lunch. 

 

This is open to any female student of HT at no charge. Event is Wed April 30 from 9 am to 3 pm.

 

Please see Mr. Chernak at lunch today in room 154 to pick up a permission form.

 


There will be a Music Ministry practice today in the music room over lunch - only 2 practices until our next liturgy!

Schulich Builders Scholarships are for students enrolling in a full-time skilled trades program at a participating college in Ontario. Twelve colleges award a total of 120 scholarships annually. Each college will award ten scholarships:

 

• Five for one-year certificate programs

• Five for two-year diploma programs

 

Valued at $40,000 ($20,000 per academic year), these scholarships support the costs of tuition, tools and living expenses.

The Leighton & Betty Brown Conservation Scholarship is now accepting applications for 2025!

 

Eligible applicants are students who:

-Reside within the Long Point Region 

-Have participation, leadership or volunteerism in promoting conservation and environmental awareness;

-Continuing education at a post-secondary level in a conservation or environmental related course of study, among other criteria.
