Attention Titans- If you are interested in the Costa Rica March Break trip and you have signed up in the main office, please come down to the cafeteria right after announcements TODAY for a brief meeting with Mrs. Bouw . If you have already enrolled for the trip- you do not need to come to the meeting. This is also a reminder for anyone who has not signed up but wishes to- the last day to sign up will be this Fridayand there is a parent meeting on Monday, Oct. 7th at 6pm in the library. That is this coming Monday! This is going to be a fantastic opportunity to see beautiful Costa Rica and Panama while also learning about Science!
All boys and girls who are interested in tug of war are to go to the gym at lunch today for a meeting and practice.
This announcement is for any students applying or interested in applying to the Canadian Reserve Military Co-op Program. There will be a brief meeting at the start of lunch today in room 218. If you are unable to attend the meeting please leave your name in guidance.

Anyone interested in participating in the boys and girls Tug of War teams are to go down to the gym at lunch
Last night the senior boys volleyball team took on Valley Heights. They fell short in the first set and came close in the next two sets. Unfortunately, the boys lost in 3. The boys showed some good serving and some great blocks. We'll get it next time, boys!
The Junior boys volleyball team played their 3rd straight great game last night against Valley Heights leaving everything on the court. There was great leadership from everyone including Tyler Coucke and his great hits throughout the game, John Steckelberg's threatening blocks and great communication from all 4 setters. The hard work put in at practice paid off with a 3-1 victory hammered home by Jaden Bautista. Well done boys! See you at practice after school today.

Attention Titans…This week you have an opportunity to get a free, awesome, vinyl sticker from the library! All you have to do is return an overdue library book. So, have a peek under your bed or wherever you’ve forgotten last year’s books, and bring back the books!

Attention all students interested in joining the French Club. There will be a meeting today at lunch in room 148 . Students in all grades are welcome. Please see Madame Vezsenyi or Madame Bell if you can not attend but would like to join the club. See you there!
On Tuesday the junior boys soccer team played SJC and ACS in a mini tournament. Despite losing both games, the titans outplayed both their opponents, but could not capitalize on their chances. Goals were scored by Nerraud Thomas, Noah Bint, and Tristan Forde had 2 goals. John Stecklebomb, Tristan Forde, Lebron Arrendell and Roman Vanacker all played fantastic. Leandrew Duta was named player of the tournament. The coaches are extremely proud of how the boys played this fall!
Reminder to all students who are interested in learning more about living abroad for a year, attending school in a different part of the world, living with host families, and learning a new language and culture. Please attend an information meeting today at lunch in rm 206. There will be a member of The Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise to explain the opportunity and answer any questions.
The gymnastics club is looking for volunteers -Norfolk County Fair is coming - which means that it's time for our annual move of the gym into storage containers. This activity will count for community service hours for school as they are a non-profit organization. The MOVE OUT will start this Saturday September 28, 2024 at 12:00pm and MOVE IN will be Saturday October 19, 2024 at 9:00am. If you or someone you know is interested in helping out, please call 519-428-5119, email us at info@simcoegliders.ca or they can show up with their forms.

Attention Titans! Are you a student that has taken or is taking Grade 10 Science, Grade 11 Biology or Grade 11 Health Care? Are you in Grade 10, 11 or 12 and interested in a career in the health care field? If the answer is YES, then listen up! If you are already enrolled or are interested in the SHSM program in health and wellness- there will be an informational meeting about SHSM this Wednesday Sept 25th - that is TODAY in room 246. This meeting is for CURRENT health and wellness SHSM students and ANYONE NEW who would like to enroll. Please come to room 246 at the beginning of lunch for a brief but important meeting. The junior boys volleyball began their season with a strong start facing off against Delhi. After 4 really close sets, the boys came up just short losing 3 sets to 1. The coaches are super proud and are excited for a great season!
Hey Titans! Our library is running a very exciting new contest—It’s a monthly draw for a $15 Tim Card! For each full-length novel you read, fill in a quick review of the book, and you’ll receive one ballot to enter the draw for a $15 Tim Card.
Our first draw will be held in the library, at lunch, on Thursday October 24th.

Attention all university bound grade 12s. The how to apply to university workshop will take place today in period 1. Anyone who is planning to apply to university this year should attend. Students will be called down to the Lower café immediately following these announcements.
Grade 12s if you have not yet signed up for liaison visits please sign up in guidance. This weeks visits include University of Guelph, Georgian college, Guelph Humber, and Humber college.
Brock university and kings college university have rescheduled into November.

Would you ever consider living abroad for a year, attending school in a different part of the world, living with host families, and learning a new language and culture? The Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise offers such an opportunity. If you’d like to learn more, please sign up in guidance to show your interest, and attend an information meeting on Thursday Sept.26 at lunch in rm 206.

Attention students wishing to go to the March Break Costa Rica trip- the parent meeting scheduled for tonight has been moved to Monday October 7th at 6pm. This update has also been posted to the parent memo as well as the parent website. This meeting is for any new students and parents who are interested in attending. If you have signed up in main office- you will have received an e-mail going over the itinerary and cost breakdown so that you can discuss with your parents prior to the meeting. See you on Oct. 7th! Attention health care students, design and technology students and anyone who has a knack for solving problems! Mohawk college is offering their second annual MoHacks HealthQuest hackathon powered by the Mischa Weisz Foundation, where teams of high school students will design solutions to health care challenges!
Participants will choose one of several health care challenges to solve at the beginning of the event. The focus is creative and innovative design!
Students will then work in teams throughout the day on their designs. This can include a variety of applications.
At the end of the day, participants will present their solutions to judges, who will award the best teams with respect to multiple judging categories. Participants will be provided with lunch, dinner, snacks, and drinks. Mentors will also be present throughout the day to assist the teams. There is no cost for this event. . The event is on Saturday October 26th from 8am until 10pm! Please see Mrs. Bouw if you are interested in attending.

Community Service Opportunity
The Port Dover Sailors hockey team is looking for a pair of students to perform audio and video duties for Sunday home games. Please see Ms. Burnie in guidance for contact information.
The Donny Brook Fair is taking place this coming weekend and they are looking for approximately 10 students for volunteer hours. If you are interested drop by guidance to get the contact information.
